McWane Ductile Plant Tour

Touring a McWane Ductile Iron Pipe plant is a unique and memorable experience. You get the opportunity to see firsthand how a few simple raw materials are taken and converted into the strongest, most reliable, most time-tested pipe material on the market today. The tour will follow the manufacturing process from start to finish, including melting down scrap metal into molten form, adding and removing ingredients to create the correct chemical balance, spinning the molten iron into pipe, annealing the pipe to achieve the proper strength, hydrostatically testing each pipe, and coating the pipe.   In addition to the plant tour, engineers from McWane Ductile, Tyler Union, and Clow Valve & Hydrant will be giving 3 presentations, allowing attendees to earn CEUs.   Please wear closed-toed shoes and jeans and bring safety glasses, ear plugs, and a hard hat.
